Tesco's half price champagne

Tesco's half price champagne that you have never heard of - and you are not alone would allegedly be £28.98 a bottle making it more expensive than Moet & Chandon, Mumm & Piper Heidsick.

In order to make the claim they have to offer the product for sale for 28 days in a number of their stores - they dont have to have sold a single bottle and at £28.98 they would not expect to sell any at all!

Perhaps someone somewhere forked out £8.98 for a bottle of Oglio Pinot Grigio but i doubt it.

Since this trickery is ok for Tesco - the others all copy. in Sainsburys they will have half price Cava that allegedly costs £2.50 to £4 a bottle more than the excellent Campo Viejo Cava Reserva @ £6.99

Spare a thought for the little guys that can not afford to create these elaborate hoax. Is hoax the plural of hoax?
